Valentines Day

Valentines or Galentines day no matter what you want to call it I bet the fact that we have just ticked over to February and it is less then two weeks away has taken you by surprise.

If you have not yet planned anything don’t worry! I have the perfect weekend itinerary and I am happy to share.

Whether you live in London or further away my suggestion is you get yourself to Marylebone station, not only is it one of the most beautiful stations in London it is also in the perfect base for a Valentines weekend.

It is five minutes walk from Regents Park,

15 minutes from Oxford and Regents Street

10 minutes from Marylebone high street

and most importantly your accomodation for the night, Travelodge, is right across the road and they are offering 10% off Sunday bookings.

With the location and accomodation sorted it is now time for the itinerary. As I mentioned the Marylebone is the ideal spot to stay. First, Drop off your bags and start wandering towards Oxford Street.

The walk is beautiful, with the famous red terrace houses.

Once you arrive at Oxford Street there is a plethora of things you can do. Shop, eat, or drink or you can do them all in the one place…. Aubaine at Selfridges is the perfect destination for a romantic lunch. The ceiling is lined with wisteria and the food is delicious.

After lunch you can head back to the room or wander back along the beautiful streets of Marylebone, before heading to Primrose hill for a sunset picnic.

Then dinner and possibly a show,

Before heading back to Travelodge for the night.

After an excellent nights sleep on an incredibly comfortable kingsize bed with numerous pillow options you can wake up and have breakfast in bed with one of the Breakfast Boxes that they offer.

Then stay lounging in bed or frolicking in balloons until checkout, which isn’t until midday.

I know this makes for a great weekend because I tried and tested it this weekend and had such a great time. If you were looking for an alternative to a weekend in London, Travelodge will open a new hotel in York which would also be a good option for a romantic weekend get away.

  1. Wonderful photos – I lived in a huge Marlebone apartment many years ago as a Nanny and loved it. It seems to be a lot trendier now.
